N is for… Numbers Too Numerous To Count.

I stumbled across a literary A to Z meme which I’m working through day by day. Here’s a link to A

Number of bookcases you own:

I wish I had more actually. I have one big one in the living room and… 3 others in there as well. And a diddy one in the office and another one in the conservatory. So… 6 and there are some more books in the garage in boxes. Actually they might fit into the bookcases if I arranged it properly but I’m currently painting the huge one so everything is chaos.

I did have a picture somewhere but I have managed to lose it. Gonna have to look for it later.

A is for… A literary A to Z

So I was reading through my RSS feed after leaving it for a couple of weeks (foolish since at least three are tumblrs and are updated at least 10 times a day. sometimes 40 or more.) and I came across an A to Z literary meme. I don’t usually like memes but, you guys! this one is about books! But instead of doing it all at once, I thought I’d do a letter a day. This could go horribly wrong, I could have nothing to say.  But eh, I don’t know. Let’s give it a go. Here is A. At least you’ve got something to look forward to.

Author you’ve read the most books from:

This… does this include rereads? Simply because of her huge amount of books, Mercedes Lackey. I’ve read all but three of the valdemar books and then there are the Elemental Masters books, the 500 Kingdoms, the Bardic Universe… Seriously, they’re amazing. Especially her fairy tails. The first Elemental Masters book I picked up was Phoenix and Ashes in the airport on my way back from visiting my grandparents in America in 2006. I haven’t looked back. And then I picked up the Fairy Godmother and wow. Mercedes Lackey takes the fairy tails and twists them, leaving them fresh and new, but still recognisable. They are possibly two of my favourite books.

Sheer number of rereads though, Enid Blyton. I. Loved. Her. Still do, on occasion. Back when I started reading, after I was confident enough and had gotten past Janet and John I used to refuse to read anything else but the Famous Five. Thank goodness she wrote so many. It took my dad yelling at me in the Eastbourne Public Library to try something new when I was six or so to break the habit.

I refused. ^^ And then I thought about it and instead of picking up Five Go Off In a Caravan I picked up The Ship Of Adventure. Dad sighed and let it go as a small victory. (Not hugely sure why I’m linking to EB’s books… Pretty certain everyone knows what I’m on about.)

So there. My most read books over the years.
